CSK batting was not in the form initial stage of the tournament. Raina did not make any big score. AmbatiRaydu was also not in the good form. But Dhoni knows how to utilize the players. The captain cool used the HarbhajanSingh and Imran Tahir and Ajay Jadeja very well in the entire tournament. CSK played 10 seasons of the IPL, qualified for playoffs 10 times, reached final 8 times and achieved 100 wins so far.
Hyederabad wicket will not be high scoring, it’s good for spinners, it will not be easy to play strokes. The match is expected to be a low scoring game.
Mumbai will go into the final as the favourites, having beaten CSK as many as three times earlier in the tournament including in the qualifier 1. However statistics does not count much going into the title fight with both teams being in the situation before several times.MI is the balanced side and they have dangerous players like Kieron Pollard, JaspritBumrah and HardikPandya, who have the ability to change the game at any moment.
Whoever outplays the other on the day will be the next champion. Let’s take a look at key battles that may tilt the balance of the match one way or other.
1. Kieron Pollard vs Dwayne Bravo
The two Windies players have had a healthy rivalry in the past seasons of the Indian Premier League. With Dwayne bravo being MS Dhoni’s choice in the final overs and Kieron Pollard being the Mumbai’s big hitter, we may see a battle between the two again. These two are also live on the field and may affect the outcome of the match by their fielding efforts.
2. HardikPandyavs Imran Tahir
Imran Tahir and HardikPandya have been the most valuable players for their sides. While Pandya has given Mumbai the much-needed runs in the middle and final overs, Tahir has always picked up crucial wickets for CSK. It will be interesting to see if tahir can send pandya early in the final or Pandya will send Tahir flying over the ropes.
3. MS DhonivsJaspritBumrah
The world’s best finishers with bat and bowl – will be against each other in the match. While MS Dhoni is known for his superlative batting skills in the final overs of an innings, Bumrah is famous for being the best bowlers in death overs. The winner of the battle may very well decide the outcome of the match.
